PeNN State Performance NUTRITION INTERN
Throughout the Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 semesters, I served as an intern for Penn State's Performance Nutrition Department beneath the University's performance RDs. As an intern, my responsibilities included:
- Managing the Fuel Station that provides healthy foods to optimize student athletes’ performance
- Preparing protein smoothies, collagen-based drinks, and food demonstrations for the athletes
- Creating handouts on topics such as veganism, breakfast, and protein
- Delivering team talks about sport- and athlete-specific nutritional needs
- Shadowing counseling sessions between dietitians and athletes
Below is a placard I created in collaboration for a "Try-It Tuesday" project. This involved a recipe demonstration within the fuel station that the athletes could taste-test and try to make themselves. This project enhanced my skills in recipe-creating, graphic design, and food safety as well as taught me to be conscious of dietary restrictions, nutritional quality, and available resources.

Undergraduate academic experience
Nutrition 407- Exercise and Sports nutrition
The purpose of this course is to enhance the nutrition knowledge of those who are interested in working with the physically active, athletes, fitness enthusiasts, or in the health and wellness industry. Sports nutrition is complex because it is the hybrid study of nutrient metabolism, biology, physiology, psychology and communication sciences that require a multifaceted application.
Below is the final report of a semester-long project involving the assessment of an athlete's diet. I began this project by performing a 24-hour dietary recall with an athlete and surveying them. After producing reports of the quality of their diet and exercise, I picked out any problems and offered recommendations for them to implement.

Below is a collaboration effort of portfolio for a collegiate swim team. The purpose of this project was to present it as if my group members and I were dietitians proposing their services to a coach or director.
